Since the summer, Edinburg CISD has been preparing for students and staff to return to classrooms. Check out our video on how we are creating A Safe New Start for in-person instruction. #ConnectwithECISD #EdinburgCISD #ECISD
All students will be participating in online learning via Google Classroom. To start learning, log into Google through your ECISD account and click the Classroom icon on the upper right side of your screen.
The Class schedule for each grade is as follows:
Students in grades PK-5 will start class at 8:30 am and end at 2:45 pm.
Students in grades 6-8 will start class at 8:15 am and end at 3:25 pm.
Students in grades 9-12 will start class at 9:00 am and end at 3:40 pm.
For elementary students, each school day will begin with a Community Circle in which students can engage with their peers and teacher. Upon login to Google Classroom, all students will gain access to a daily schedule and syllabus detailing instruction for the day. The last hour of each school day is designated as “Teacher Hour”, a time where students and parents will be able to ask their instructors questions and clarify any portion of the online learning schedule.
While learning will take place at home, there is still a bell schedule students must follow in order to begin learning promptly. It’s important that students attend online instruction daily. If they are not able to attend, they can still be counted as present by submitting their virtual assignments for the day, emailing the teacher, or contacting them via phone to submit an excuse.
Starting with the first day of school, Edinburg CISD will offer two virtual learning options: Synchronous Instruction and Asynchronous Instruction. It is highly recommended that students follow the Synchronous option to be able to meet with their teacher and to socialize with their classmates. Students unable to meet with teachers at specified times have the option of participating in Remote Asynchronous Instruction, allowing them to see their teacher’s video that was previously recorded and watch it any time they want.
ECISD will resume our Curbside Meal Pickup for ECISD students beginning August 31. Meal bundles (breakfast and lunch) can be picked up at any elementary school, middle school or high school Monday-Friday from 7:30 to 12:30 p.m. Meal cards must display your child’s name and student ID number, however, the student does not have to be present. Please display meal cards on the windshield area so they are easily visible for staff. If you have not received a meal card, you may request one from your child’s school.
The ECISD Technology Call Center is now open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Our Technology Call Center will be available to help any parent, student or teacher with issues related to virtual learning software and/or hardware. Please call 956-289-2325 to speak to one of our ECISD technology specialists.
As per TEA ruling, numerical grades will be required for the 2020-2021 school year. Edinburg CISD teachers will follow grading policies adopted by Edinburg CISD Pre-COVID 19. Grading procedures for grades K-12 can be found in the Student Handbook, which can be accessed via the ECISD website at www.ecisd.us
